Installing and Bleeding Wing Fold Cylinders

causym CAUTION: Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin causing serious injury. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other lines. Tighten all connections before applying pressure. Search for leaks with a piece of cardboard. Protect hands and body from high pressure fluids.

If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately. Any fluid injected into the skin must be surgically removed within a few hours or gangrene may result.

1. Attach cylinder base end(s) to linkage, but leave rod end(s) detached.

2. Attach all hoses in the hydraulic circuit.

3. Support cylinder(s) on wooden blocks, so rod(s) can extend and retract without interference.

causym CAUTION: If cylinders are not bled as described below, wings could drop unexpectedly, causing injury or death to you or others.

4. Connect hoses to tractor. Fully extend and retract all cylinders at least two times, maintaining hydraulic pressure at full extension for at least 30 seconds. Then extend cylinders one more time, maintaining pressure at full extension for one minute. This allows all air to escape from cylinders.

5. Attach rod end(s) of cylinder(s) to wings.

causym CAUTION: To avoid injury or death, stand clear of machine when wings are being folded or unfolded. Mechanical or hydraulic failure can allow wings to fall rapidly causing injury or death to you or others.
