V-Wings

NOTE: V-wing is not compatible with row spacing less than 76 cm (30 in.).

The V-wing moves the top layer of soil from a bed, to allow the opener to run on a smooth surface and plant in moist soil. It can be adjusted to skim the ground and remove clods when flat planting. The V-wing frame is attached to the row unit parallel arms to provide depth gauging by both the machine frame and the planting unit, reducing variations caused by uneven field conditions. V-wings may not perform satisfactorily in high residue or sticky soils. Adjust angle of V-wing by turning cap screw (A).

To adjust height of V-wings, raise and turn adjustment knob on tillage support bracket. The tillage support bracket has a scale and pointer to help adjust all V-wings evenly.

Adjust V-wings to lightly contact soil surface when planting unit is in planting position.

When adjustment is complete, back handle up and push handle down to lock in position.
