Liquid Fertilizer System

Symptom Problem Solution

Fertilizer flow rate slow or stopped.

Excessive drive tire slippage.

Excessive fertilizer manifold pressure due to too small orifice, plugged orifices or row strainers. Reduce row unit down force, or check drive for misalignment or binding.

Plugged orifice, nozzle or strainer.

Clean or replace orifice, nozzle and strainer.

Kinked delivery hose at wings or at row.

Fix or replace hose.

Not enough pressure in distribution manifold.

Use smaller orifice or nozzle to raise manifold pressure. Add gauge to monitor pressure.

Drive tire or contact tire pressure low.

Inflate to proper pressure.

Fertilizer rate uneven row to row.

Not enough pressure in distribution manifold.

Use smaller orifice or nozzle to raise manifold pressure. Add gauge to monitor pressure.

Orifice or nozzle plugged.

Clean or replace.

Row strainers plugged.

Clean or replace.

Orifices or nozzles of mixed sizes used.

Use orifice or nozzle of same sizes.

Fertilizer opener penetrates too deep.

Improper adjustment.

Adjust.

One fertilizer opener not distributing fertilizer.

Fertilizer tube opener spout plugged.

Inspect, clean and remove obstruction.

Orifice or row strainer plugged.

Clean orifice or row strainer.

Manifold pressure too low.

Use smaller orifice or nozzle. Add gauge to monitor pressure.

Drive tire or contact tire pressure low.

Inflate to proper pressure.
