Raising and Lowering Machine

IMPORTANT: On machines with single lever control, DO NOT put SCV lever into FLOAT when raising and lowering. The correct procedure for raising and lowering is to POWER completely UP or DOWN.

IMPORTANT: To prevent plugging of seed tubes or seed openers, lower the machine only when moving forward.

IMPORTANT: Damage to machine may occur if mast is improperly adjusted. See LEVELING-MACHINES EQUIPPED WITH PIVOTING CENTER MAST in this section.

There are various ways to raise the machine depending on mast configuration and hydraulic hook-up.

Integral Machines With Rigid Mast

Raise and lower machine with tractor rockshaft control lever.

12-Row Machines with No Mast or Pivoting Mast and Lift-Assist Wheels

WITHOUT SINGLE LEVER CONTROL: The front of the machine is raised and lowered with the rockshaft and the rear of the machine is raised and lowered with an SCV. Raise both the front and rear at the same time.

WITH SINGLE LEVER SCV CONTROL: A hydraulic hose kit can be installed so the front and rear of the machine is raised and lowered with one SCV lever. When lowered, the lift assist wheels can be raised off the ground with this system. See your John Deere dealer.

WITH LIFT ASSIST WHEELS CONNECTED TO HITCH CONTROL: A hydraulic hose kit can be installed so the front and rear of machine is raised and lowered with rockshaft control lever only. When lowered, the lift assist wheels remain on the ground with this system. See your John Deere dealer.
