How to Use Liquid Fertilizer Rate Charts
NOTE:
The rate charts are affected by many factors. Drive wheel slippage, the material that is being used and it's temperature, travel speed and pump hose tension are a few of the many factors which can affect this rate and, therefore, these charts should only be used as a guide. To be certain you are getting the desired rate, you must do a field check. Refer to CHECKING FERTILIZER RATES in this section.
1.
Select chart with desired row spacing, hose size and rate range.
REGULAR RATE hoses are standard on squeeze pump. LOW RATE hoses may be purchased through your John Deere dealer.
A LOWER RATE will require you to use the LOW RANGE chart. The driver gear must be the 14-tooth gear and the driven gear must be the 28-tooth gear.
A HIGHER RATE will require you to use the HIGH RANGE chart. The driver gear must be the 28-tooth gear and the driven gear must be the 14-tooth gear.
Refer to CHANGING FERTILIZER DRIVER AND DRIVEN GEAR COMBINATIONS in this section.
2.
Locate desired rate under Travel Speed column at the expected planting speed.
Determine the correct fertilizer transmission sprocket combination. Refer to CHANGING FERTILIZER TRANSMISSION SPROCKET COMBINATIONS in this section.
