Using Powdered Graphite

IMPORTANT: Some insecticide-treated seed may be coated with commercially applied graphite. It is important that the recommended amount of graphite be added in addition to graphite already on the seed.

IMPORTANT: Graphite will filter down into finger pick-up mechanism and insure proper lubrication. John Deere Graphite provides a dry lubrication. Some types have an oil base and will form a gummy residue on parts. Graphite does not eliminate need for proper and regular lubrication indicated in lubrication charts.

NOTE: If graphite is building up in bottom of hopper, reduce amount accordingly.

Add 15 mL (1 Tbls.) of powdered graphite (part No. B33379) into each 58L (1.6 bu) hopper at each refill. Double the amount if using 106L (3 bu) hoppers.
