Lubrication-Finger Pick-Up

IMPORTANT: Some insecticide-treated seed is coated with commercially applied graphite. It is important that the recommended amount of graphite be added in addition to graphite already on the seed.

IMPORTANT: Regular use of 6 mL (3/8 T.) of powdered graphite (Part No. B33379) added to hopper per each hopper fill, will reduce wear of metering components and prolong the life of the meter. Graphite filters down into the finger pick-up mechanism and insures proper lubrication. John Deere Graphite provides a dry lubrication. Some types have an oil base and will form a gummy residue on parts. Graphite does not eliminate need for proper and regular lubrication indicated in lubrication charts.

NOTE: If graphite is building up in bottom of hopper, reduce amount accordingly.

Add 6 mL (3/8 T.) of powdered graphite (Part No. B33379) per 58L (1.6 bu) hopper fill. Double the amount if using 106L (3 bu) hoppers.
