Attaching Machine to Tractor

causym CAUTION: To avoid injury from escaping hydraulic oil under pressure, relieve the pressure in the system by moving remote cylinder operating levers to float and stopping tractor engine before attaching hoses to or detaching hoses from the breakaway couplers.

Hydraulic hoses can fail due to physical damage, kinks, age and exposure. Check hoses regularly. Replace damaged hoses.

NOTE: Not necessary to turn off tractor if attaching machine to John Deere tractor with ISO couplers.

Back tractor up to machine hitch. Connect hydraulic lift hoses (A) to SCV I. Hydraulically raise/lower machine hitch to align clevis with tractor drawbar.

The hitch height is adjustable allowing the machine frame and hitch to be leveled. The machine frame should be from 508 mm to 560 mm (20 in. to 22 in.) from the ground in the planting position. The hitch height is adjustable to better meet the different tractor tire heights and dimensions.
