Folding Machine

causym CAUTION: Be certain everyone is clear of machine.

Serious injury or death can result from contact with electric lines. Use care when moving or operating this machine near electric lines when folding machine.

1. Use firm, LEVEL ground when possible to make folding easier. Set SCV flow to middle position. Raise machine and retract marker.

2. At SEEDSTAR ® Control Console, place PLANT/TRANS switch (A) in PLANT position.

3. RAISE MACHINE FULLY:

At armrest, engage SCV I until machine is fully raised.

causym CAUTION: Place PLANT/TRANS switch in TRANS to prevent machine from lowering, if SCV lever is inadvertently moved.

4. At SEEDSTAR ® Control Console, place PLANT/TRANS switch (A) in TRANS position.

5. RAISE MARKER WINGS:

a. At SEEDSTAR ® Control Console, press and hold MARKER WINGS R switch (I).

b. At armrest, engage SCV I until right-hand wing raises completely. Repeat for left-hand wing pressing and holding MARKER WINGS L switch.

6. LEVEL MACHINE FRAME:

a. Place tractor in neutral (allows for machine movement).

b. At SEEDSTAR ® Control Console, press and hold HITCH/LATCH switch (B).

c. At armrest, engage SCV I to raise hitch slightly and release frame latch (C).

d. At SEEDSTAR ® Control Console, press and hold FOLD switch (D).

e. At armrest, engage SCV I to fold machine slightly and clear hitch latch (C).

f. At SEEDSTAR ® Control Console, press and hold HITCH/LATCH switch (B).

g. At armrest, engage SCV I to lower hitch until machine draft tubes are level to prevent damage to frame when folding.

7. FOLD MACHINE:

a. At SEEDSTAR ® Control Console, press and hold FOLD switch (D).

NOTE: ON FIRM GROUND, place tractor in NEUTRAL to allow tractor and machine to move to prevent damage to wing wheels.

ON SOFT OR WORKED GROUND, place tractor in FORWARD and slowly drive forward to assist machine while folding to prevent damage to wing wheels.

NOTE: Stop short of wing ends meeting and slightly LOWER hitch (so ends do NOT make contact with machine frame hitch tube (center bar). Then finish folding and completely RAISE hitch.

b. At armrest, engage SCV I until wings gently come together.

8. ENGAGE LATCH:

a. At SEEDSTAR ® Control Console, press and hold HITCH/LATCH switch (B).

b. At armrest, engage SCV I until wing (E) gently latches in receiver (F) (will see wing frame ends pull up into one another).

9. RAISE WING WHEELS:

a. At SEEDSTAR ® Control Console, press and hold WING WHEELS switch (G).

causym CAUTION: Wing wheels must contact bottom of telescoping tube and draft tubes to lock wings into receiver for transport.

b. At armrest, engage SCV I until wing wheels raise tight to frame, locking wings to receiver (F).

NOTE: Do NOT use pins (H) while transporting. If tractor is to be unhooked from machine, install retaining pin (H) on EACH receiver (F).

10. Machine is now ready for transport.
