Strainer Maintenance

IMPORTANT: To prevent damage to piston pump see Storage section for recommendations on storage procedures. IMPORTANT: All nurse tanks should be equipped with strainers to prevent contamination. Proper filtering of liquid fertilizer is important to prevent obstruction of nozzles and damage to piston pump. An 80 mesh (AA40216) main strainer (A) is provided as |
standard equipment and is located in the line connected to the bottom of the pump. It should be checked and cleaned after initial start up, daily or as required thereafter. Obstructions will result in increased manifold pressure readings on gauge.
Fertilizer with excessive contamination can cause increased frequency of main strainer clean out requirements. Should this become unacceptable, a coarser 50 mesh screen strainer (AA40215) is available through service parts. See your John Deere dealer. |
