Adjusting Frame Height-Center Frame

causym CAUTION: Install storage/service locks on rockshafts whenever maintenance is to be performed to prevent possible injury.

IMPORTANT: Perform all frame height adjustments with machine on level ground.

NOTE: Adjust frame 510 to 560 mm (20 to 22 in.) above the ground. Soil conditions will effect frame height.

NOTE: Adjust center frame wheel modules in pairs.

1. To change frame height on wheel modules (A) and (B), install service locks (E) on wheel modules (C) and (D) and lower machine onto service locks until wheel being adjusted is off ground.

2. To change frame height on wheel modules (C) and (D), install service locks (E) on wheel modules (A) and (B) and lower machine onto service locks until wheel being adjusted if off ground.

3. Remove wheel hub bolts and position wheel hubs in location (A) for normal conditions, location (B) to raise frame two inches, and location (C) to lower frame two inches.

4. Tighten wheel hub cap screws to specification after making adjustments.

Specification

Center Frame Wheel Cap Screws -Torque 610 N·m (450 lb-ft)

5. Repeat for adjacent wheel.

IMPORTANT: To prevent damage to row unit coulter or contact drive tire, tire scraper must be adjusted anytime frame height is changed. See ADJUSTING TIRE SCRAPER in this section.

6. Adjust tire scrapers if equipped.
