Attaching Machine to Tractor
CAUTION:
Avoid serious injury or death resulting from loss of control or rear end collision during transport of the implement and any towed load behind the implement.
Attach a properly sized safety tow chain between machine and any towed load.
Do not transport with machine more than one-half full. Do not transport a towed load (such as a fertilizer tank) unless it is empty.
Never exceed 13,600 kg (30,000 lb) of towed weight behind the machine.
Transport only with a properly sized tractor. Refer to CALCULATING MINIMUM TRACTOR WEIGHT FOR SAFE TRANSPORT in Preparing Tractor section.
Do not transport on a roadway unless the towed load has two functioning tail lights. Attach an appropriate lighting harness to the 7-pin connector. Contact your John Deere dealer for accessory lights and lighting harnesses.
Be certain that the towed load has an appropriate SMV emblem and rear reflectors. Ensure that the reflective material and the SMV are clean and visible.
When towing on a roadway, refer to TOW LOADS SAFELY in the Safety section.
CAUTION:
Do not stand between tractor and the machine unless the tractor transmission is in PARK.
1.
Raise both latch control levers.
2.
Lower the rockshaft until the quick-coupler hooks are lower than the machine hitch pins and slowly back the tractor up to the machine.
