QUIK-FILL™ Liquid Fertilizer Attachment-30 ft Machines Only

The QUIK-FILL ™ Liquid Fertilizer System allows one-point filling.

The fertilizer tank holds approximately 1514L (400 U.S. gal). The fertilizer is distributed to the fertilizer openers by a piston pump.

CAUTION: Agricultural chemicals can be dangerous. Improper selection or use can injure persons, animals, plants, soil or other property. BE SAFE. Select the right chemical for the job. Handle and apply it with care. Follow instructions of the chemical manufacturer. Check all valves, fittings, hose clamps, plugs and caps for tightness and soundness before admitting liquid fertilizer to the system. Check again at regular intervals and replace pipe and hoses when worn, cracked or leaking.

When using liquid fertilizer, excessive pressure can cause tank rupture. Shut OFF nurse tank pump as soon as tank is FULL.

To fill liquid fertilizer tank, proceed as follows:

NOTE: If shut-off valve lever is hard to operate, proceed as follows:

Internal O-rings located in the valve prevent valve leakage. The "preload" on these O-rings can be adjusted to allow both leak-free operation and easy operation of valve lever. Turn large nut until lever moves smoothly without overtightening, which can cause damage to the O-rings.

Close pump shut-off valve (A).

Close QUIK-FILL ™ valve (B) and remove dust cover from quick-attaching coupler.

IMPORTANT: It is recommended that the nurse tank pump be no larger than a 40 mm (1-1/2 in.) centrifugal pump with a 2.2 kW (3 to 5 hp) gasoline engine. If a 50 mm (2 in.) centrifugal pump is used with a 3.7 to 5.5 kW (5 to 7-1/2 hp) gasoline engine, it is recommended that the engine be run at half throttle. It is not recommended that a 75 mm (3 in.) centrifugal pump be used. These larger pumps may exceed the liquid fertilizer system pressure limit, resulting in damage to liquid tank. Signs of excessive pressure will be leakage through the seals of the tank cap and bottom fittings. Another sign would be swelling of the tank, which could cause possible cracking or bursting of tank or lid.

Secure nurse tank to quick-attaching coupler.

Open shut-off valve (B).

After fertilizer tank has been filled, shut off pump engine on nurse tank, close shut-off valve (B) and close valve on nurse tank.

Remove nurse tank hose from machine.

Open pump valve (A).
