Connecting Hydraulic Hoses-7000 Series Row-Crop Tractors

causym CAUTION: To avoid injury from escaping hydraulic oil under pressure, relieve the pressure in the system by shutting off tractor and moving SCV levers in both directions before detaching hoses from the breakaway couplers.

Hydraulic hoses can fail due to physical damage, kinks, age and exposure. Check hoses regularly. Replace damaged hoses.

IMPORTANT: Case drain hose (A) must be connected to tractor OR placed in storage bracket (C) at ALL times to prevent damage to CCS fan and vacuum motor seals.

IMPORTANT: Fan motor/vacuum motor case drain hose MUST be attached to low-pressure drain connection PRIOR to inlet and return hoses being connected. Case drain MUST have LESS THAN 172 kPa (1.72 bar) (25 psi) or fan motor will be damaged.

IMPORTANT: Installation of a Low-Pressure Drain Line Kit is required if towing tractor is not so equipped. Refer to PROTECTING HYDRAULIC MOTOR SEALS-LOW-PRESSURE (CASE) DRAIN CONNECTION in Preparing Tractor section for appropriate kit.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT USE other ports at the rear of the tractor (such as power-beyond ports) which may be similar in appearance and size to low-pressure drain port. Due to high back-pressure (over 172 kPa [1.72 bar] [25 psi]), drain connection to these ports WILL RESULT in fan motor damage.

1. Attach case drain hose (A) to low-pressure drain coupler (B).

causym CAUTION: Hydraulic hoses can fail due to physical damage, kinks, age and exposure. Check hoses regularly. Replace damaged hoses.

NOTE: Not necessary to turn off tractor if attaching machine to John Deere Tractor with ISO couplers.

NOTE: For tractors without "Connect under Pressure" SCV, it is necessary to turn engine OFF and cycle SCV levers to relieve pressure in hoses.

2. Connect hydraulic hoses (A) for machine lift and automatic marker system (if equipped) to SCV I. Set flow control valve to full open position.

3. INDEPENDENT MARKERS: If equipped with independent markers, connect marker hoses (B) to SCV II. Set flow control valve to full open position.

4. VACUUM METER: See CONNECTING VACUMETER headings in this section.

5. VARIABLE RATE DRIVE: If equipped with variable rate drive, see your SEEDSTAR ™ Generation 2 and Variable Rate Fertilizer Operator's Manual.
