    A - Hi/Low Switch

    B - Tuning Knob

    C - Power Switch

    D - Segment

Position HI/LOW switch (A) in LOW position.

  2. Rotate tuning knob (B) completely counterclockwise.

  3. Turn power switch (C) ON. Begin planting and maintain constant speed.

    ALL LAMPS SHOULD BE OFF.

  4. Rotate tuning knob (B) clockwise until ALL row lamps are lit. If all lamps do not light, return tuning knob to the counterclockwise position and place HI/LO switch (A) in HI position. Rotate tuning knob clockwise until ALL row lamps are lit.

  5. NOTE: All lamps should tune out at approximately the same point on the dial. If one or more lamps tune out considerably down the scale, check those planting units for malfunction.

Slowly rotate tuning knob (B) counterclockwise until all lamps are off and immediately stop rotating knob.

  6. Rotate tuning knob one additional segment (D) counterclockwise (inset).

NOTE: Once the tuning point has been determined, planting speed must be maintained because seed flow is directly proportional to ground speed. Any change in planting speed will require a new tuning point to be set.

Once monitor is tuned, if seed flow in any planting unit drops or stops the row lamp will light and an audible alarm will sound. Possible causes are; inadequate seed flow from seed hopper, broken pick-up finger, broken spring, low vacuum, sheared pin, plugged opener, disabled chain, or empty hopper.

When monitor detects all rows below tuning point (such as when turning at end of field) the audible alarm will turn off after a few seconds, but all the lamps will stay lit.
