Leveling Machines Equipped with No Mast

NOTE: Machine frame height must be set prior to leveling machine. See ADJUSTING FRAME HEIGHT in this section.

Lift assist wheels (A) support the rear of planter and prevent it from tipping over.

1. Drive tractor and machine onto level ground. Lower to planting position while driving forward.

NOTE: On machines with out a center mast bracket, level the machine by adjusting the rockshaft lower limit.

2. Level machine frame (A) front-to-rear with tractor center link (C).

3. Check to be sure planting units (B) are parallel with ground when in planting position. Adjust lift assist wheels and/or drive-gauge wheels as needed.

4. When planting, parallel arms (D) should be parallel to the ground.

Periodically check machine to be certain planting units are running level.

5. Raise machine and check to see if dimension (A) between machine (B) and quick-coupler (C) is at least 76 mm (3 in.). If not, adjust lift assist wheels as follows:

1720 16-RN and 12-RW ONLY: Increase dimension (A) with lift assist wheel cylinder adjustment rod (D).

OTHER LIFT ASSIST MACHINES: Increase dimension (A) with lift assist wheel stops (E).
