When desired population is known, use the following formula to find transmission sprocket settings for row widths not shown in seed charts.
FORMULA:
(A ÷ B) x C = D
A = Desired row width in inches.
B = Row width column in the seed chart (for crop being planted) nearest to desired row width.
C = Seed population desired.
D = Calculated comparison population value.
The following example assumes corn will be planted (using vacuum meters with corn-30 cell disks) with

planting units set on 28 in. rows and a desired seed population of 28 000. Using seed chart for corn-30 cells, the row width nearest the desired row width is 30 in.
EXAMPLE:
(28 ÷ 30) x 28 000 = 26 133
Find population value in chart nearest to calculated comparison population value (26 318 for this example).
Use the sprocket combinations in the corresponding rows (29-tooth driver and 27-tooth driven for this example) to achieve desired population (28 000 for this example).
