Tightening Spring-Reset Standards
IMPORTANT:
To prevent frame wear, check and tighten hardware after first ten hours of operation and periodically thereafter.
U-bolt nuts must be tightened EVENLY so the standard is "square" on frame.
Tighten U-bolt (A) nuts as follows:
1.
Snug the top nut.
IMPORTANT:
Loose hardware and/or broken brackets can result if contact points (B), at each corner, are not touching frame when tightened.
NOTE:
If a torque wrench is not available, use wrench A57846 to tighten U-bolt nuts. Wrench is available from your John Deere dealer.
2.
Tighten the bottom nut according to specifications.
