Understanding Depth Control Linkage
Depth control linkage is connected to caster wheels at front of machine and depth adjustment plates and press wheel lift arms at rear. Linkage is attached to rockshaft which is rotated by depth control cylinders. Depth is adjusted by changing the number of depth adjustment plates between handles and mechanical stops. Each individual plate changes depth 6.35 mm (0.25 in.). Plates set distance that linkage can travel before encountering a mechanical stop. To increase seeding depth, flip plates up and to decrease depth, flip plates down. See SETTING SEEDING DEPTH in this section for information on plate adjustment. Caster wheel adjustments are used for frame leveling. See LEVELING CENTER FRAME AND WINGS in this section for leveling information.
