Guidelines for Use

1. Use recommended size tractor. See Specifications section.

2. Be sure tractor and machine are properly prepared. See Preparing the Tractor and Preparing the Machine sections.

3. Be sure safety chain is correct size and attached to tractor drawbar and implement hitch.

4. Clear wing area of people and obstacles before lowering or raising wings.

5. Check tire pressures before seeding.

6. Be sure wing fold cylinders are fully extended to permit wings to follow ground contours.

7. Be sure machine is level side-to-side and front-to-back.

8. Spring reset standards with bolt on sweeps are designed for maximum operating depth of 127 mm (5 in.).

9. Commodity Air Cart: Operate at a ground speed of 6 km/h to 13 km/h (4 mph to 8 mph).

10. Raise the machine fully out of the ground before making sharp turns or backing machine.

11. Periodically during seeding, hold depth control lever in the forward (lower) position for two seconds after depth control cylinders are retracted against stops to confirm level seeding.

12. To prevent skipping, back machine up 5 m (15 ft) after stopping.

13. Have machine moving forward before lowering openers, to avoid plugging.

causym CAUTION: Handle and apply fertilizers and chemically treated seeds according to manufacturer's recommendations to keep from being severely injured.

14. Avoid using fertilizers that absorb moisture very readily, especially during periods of high humidity. Also avoid fertilizers that contain a high percentage of fine dusts, as these materials can plug feed rolls and coat the inside of the seed distribution system.

15. Check seed rates carefully.

16. When using hoe drill with air seeder, always refer to the Air Seeder operator's manual for specific operational procedures.
