Attaching Air Hoe Drill to Tow Between Air Cart

causym CAUTION: Use a signal person to direct tractor/seed cart movement. Tractor operator's view of hoe drill hitch point is completely obscured by seed cart. Know hand signals and what each signal means before moving. Move slowly and follow signal person's directions to avoid a crushing accident which could cause severe injury or death to someone. Do not stand between air cart and implement while cart and tractor are in motion.

1. Align hitch and attach with pin (A).

causym CAUTION: A safety chain will help control drawn equipment should it accidentally separate from the hitch while transporting. A runaway machine could cause severe injury or death to a motorist, bystander or the operator. Using the appropriate adapter parts, attach the chain to the seed cart. Provide only enough slack in chain to permit turning. See your John Deere dealer for a chain with a strength rating equal to or greater than the gross weight of the towed machine.

2. Attach safety chain (B) to seed cart hitch.

causym CAUTION: Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin, causing serious injury. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before attaching hydraulic hoses to couplers.

Hydraulic hoses can fail due to physical damage, kinks, age and exposure. Check hoses regularly. Replace damaged hoses.

NOTE: To help identify and properly connect hoses, Hose Identification Kit AR103808 is available from your John Deere dealer.

3. Plug lift hoses into SCV I hydraulic couplers (A).

4. Plug wing fold hoses into SCV II hydraulic couplers (B).

5. Plug warning light cable into plug (C).

NOTE: Be sure air hose gaskets are in place when attaching hose connector.

6. Remove coupler cover plugs and attach seed cart hose connectors to hoe drill with clips.
