Preparing to Operate Air Hoe Drill In Field

1. Make sure tractor and hoe drill are properly prepared. See Preparing Tractor and Machine sections. Check that proper connections have been made for your hoe drill/seed cart configuration (tow-between or tow-behind). See Attaching and Detaching section.

2. Place tractor transmission in "Park" and/or set brakes, start engine and locate machine on level ground.

causym CAUTION: To help prevent severe injury or death to you or someone else:

Keep all persons away from machine when raising and lowering wings.

Always locate machine on level ground when raising and lowering wings.

Never raise or lower wings when moving.

3. Fold wings up to fully folded position using SCV II (A), to aid in removal of transport wheel cylinder locks.

4. Open hydraulic lockup valve.

5. Remove transport wheel cylinder locks and place in storage position.

IMPORTANT: To avoid damage to press wheels, fully extend depth control cylinders and press wheels using SCV I.

6. 3-Section Machines: Fully extend press wheels using SCV I (B).

5-Section Machines: Extend press wheels until caster wheels are 102 mm (4 in.) apart.

7. Operate wing fold control lever. Transport wheels will raise, then wings will unfold.

8. Pull marker selector knob out (if equipped).
