Using Rate Charts

IMPORTANT: If the desired product does not appear in the rate charts or monitor, contact your John Deere Dealer for product use recommendations.

IMPORTANT: Rate charts are general guide lines for initial transmission position before meter rate checks. A rate check should be conducted to verify actual rate delivered.

NOTE: To determine seeds per hectare (acre), multiply kilograms (pounds) of product per hectare (acre) by the number of seeds per kilogram (pound).

NOTE: Seed size, seed shape, soil condition, residue level, and seeding speed can all influence the actual rate obtained.

The provided rate charts are used to estimate transmission setting number for the product in use and type (color) of meter wheels installed.

EXAMPLE:

Example based on a desired application rate of 25 lbs/acre of soybean for 7.5 in. and 15 in. rows using the high rate (white) meter wheels.

Finding 25 lbs/acre on the graph and following it across to where it intersects with the graph line for roller in use. By following the intersection point down, we find that the drive box setting is approximately 14.
