Air System Description

· Fan Operation:

Fan (A) is driven by a hydraulic motor (B). Fan speed is adjusted and set through use of the tractor's SCV control. A one-way check valve in the return hose prevents the fan motor from turning backward.

The motor case drain line (C) MUST be attached to a low-pressure drain connection on the tractor or motor damage will occur. Drain port back-pressure must be less than 172 kPa (1.72 bar) (25 psi).

To engage fan, pull back SCV control to open return line; then push forward until held by detent.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT place SCV control in neutral while fan is running. Damage to fan motor may occur.

To disengage fan, place SCV control in float. DO NOT place SCV control in neutral while fan is running.

It is NORMAL for plenum pressure to rise and fall when the machine is in a tight right-hand or left-hand turn. Turning speeds up or slows down the ground drive system, putting more or less product into the air system. Plenum pressure may fluctuate in reaction to how much product is in the stream and the resulting back pressure.

· Air System:

Between the fan housing and meter is the plenum (A). The air stream disperses inside the plenum to reach air chamber (B).

Venturis (A) are where the air stream picks-up product as it is metered from the tank.

Product is then carried out through primary hose (A) to row unit. A splitter is used so product can be carried to row units through secondary hoses (B).
