Changing Spring Down Pressure

causym CAUTION: Avoid serious injury to hands and feet resulting from opener blades. Always wear gloves when working on or around opener blades. Keep hands and feet from under opener blades while making adjustments and/or servicing.

NOTE: Regular-duty spring (green) is recommended for soft soil conditions.

Heavy-duty spring (black) is recommended for hard soil conditions to maintain soil penetration.

1. Install service locks on wheel modules.

2. Remove cap screws (D) and pins.

3. Remove nut (A).

4. Loosen cap screw (B) and remove casting (C).

5. Remove spring.

6. Install preferred spring onto cap screw (B).

7. Install cap screw (B) into casting (C). Install jam nut (A). Do not tighten at this time.

8. Install pins and cap screws (D).

NOTE: The 2 mm to 6 mm (0.078 in. to 0.24 in.) dimension is measured when jam nut (A) is tightened.

9. Tighten cap screw (B) until there is 2 mm to 6 mm (0.078 in. to 0.24 in.) of threads above jam nut (A).

10. Tighten nut (A).
