Inspecting Vacuum Motor

IMPORTANT: Motor case drain hose (A) MUST be attached to low-pressure drain connection PRIOR to other hoses being connected. Case drain MUST have LESS THAN 172 kPa (1.72 bar) (25 psi) or fan motor will be damaged.

NOTE: Excessive oil leakage may cause vacuum pump motor guard to become clogged. This may cause loss of vacuum.

This leakage will occur inside pump housing and can be seen on pump guard.

Check vacuum motor for oil leaks.

A small amount of oil leakage is acceptable. If leakage occurs on motor housing at (B), check for loose hardware on motor or loose fittings. If oil leakage is excessive or if vacuum levels can not be maintained, the vacuum motor should be replaced.
