System Operation

IMPORTANT: Remove drive chain from piston pump when fertilizer is not used while planting. This will prevent damage to pump

The liquid fertilizer pump (A) is a two piston, variable stroke pump. This pump is a ground driven, positive displacement metering device. Select the high or low rate range and set the stroke of the pump to adjust the output rate. The gallons per acre application will be accurate regardless of varying speeds of the drive mechanism.

When using the frame mounted single-disk fertilizer opener, a low pressure delivery system is used with a flow divider. The flow divider will automatically adjust for varying application rates and will evenly distribute an equal amount of liquid to each output flow port. The flow divider is self-cleaning of debris; however, should large debris enter the unit, the unit may be cleaned by simply removing the four top socket head screws, then removing the cap, seal, and spring, and finally removing the needle for cleaning with a soft cloth. Assembly is made in reverse order. The unit should be cleaned and flushed out with water after usage to avoid clogging.
