Filling CCS Tanks
CAUTION:
When transporting machine on roadways, CCS tanks should be half full or less.
Do not open lids when CCS blower is running. Lids and harmful chemicals may be blown into face and seed lines will plug.
Follow chemical manufacturers precautions when handling parts coated with seed treatments. Use proper skin, eye and respiratory protection.
IMPORTANT:
Cleanout any buildup of seed treatments or talc between CCS tank fills.
Keep seed free of debris. Debris will cause blockage at CCS nozzles. Optional fill screen is available, see your John Deere dealer.
Clean seed level sensor prior to filling of seed tanks
Avoid plugging delivery hoses at CCS tank. Tank agitators will run when machine is lowered and tractor key is on. Agitator operation without CCS fan air flow may cause some seed types to plug in hoses at tank. If machine is lowered for extended periods with seed in CCS tank, turn tractor key off or unplug agitator.
Add talc when machine is equipped with vacuum meters. See USE OF TALC LUBRICANT in Operating Vacuum Meter section.
For best performance, level off seed in tanks after filling to minimize amount of seed remaining in tanks when planting ends. Recommend using an 203 mm (8 in.) wide, stiff bristled broom with 1372 mm (4.5 ft) handle to level seed when CCS tanks are full and after low tank level sensor warning light comes on.
Close lids tightly after filling to avoid plugging of delivery lines when CCS system is activated.
