Connecting Hydraulic Hoses 9000 and 9000T Series Tractors (General Information)

causym CAUTION: Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin, causing serious injury to you or others. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other lines. Tighten all connections before applying pressure. Search for leaks with a piece of cardboard. Protect hand and body from high-pressure fluids.

If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately. Any fluid injected into the skin must be removed within a few hours or gangrene can occur.

causym CAUTION: Hydraulic hoses can fail due to physical damage, kinks, age, and exposure. Check hoses regularly and replace as necessary.

  • Fan motor and vacuum motor case drain hose (A) MUST be attached to low-pressure drain connection PRIOR to inlet and return hoses being connected. Case drain MUST have LESS THAN 172 kPa (1.72 bar) (25 psi) or fan motor damage occurs.
  • Installation of a Low-Pressure Drain Line Kit is required when towing tractor is not equipped. Refer to PROTECTING HYDRAULIC MOTOR SEALS-LOW-PRESSURE (CASE) DRAIN CONNECTION in Preparing Tractor section for appropriate kit.

Vacuum and variable rate drive systems must always be shut off by pushing SCV into "float" position. This avoids damaging pressure spikes in hydraulic system.

When each vacuum motor is connected to its own SCV the tractor cab controls are used to adjust vacuum. If installed, the in-line flow control valves must be set to maximum.

With two vacuum motors connected to a single tractor SCV, planter flow control valves must be installed and used to control vacuum level. Tractor flow control must be set to maximum.

CCS control valve is used to control tank pressure.

SEEDSTAR ™ system is used to control variable rate drive.

The 1600 psi rephasing valve is needed when tractors with 2500 psi are used.
