Change From 38 cm (15 in.) To 76 cm (30 in.) Rows

    Check List for Following Procedure:

  • 12/24 or 16/32 ONLY: Move hitch to center position.
  • Remove seed from CCS tanks and row units.
  • Remove and install correct seed disks.
  • Install yellow plugs on all split row units (vacuum and seed delivery hoses).
  • Disconnect meter drives on center split rows.
  • Install short cylinder stops on wing rockshafts to lock up wing rows.
  • If equipped, release pneumatic pressure from rear center split rows.
  • If equipped, place heavy-duty down force lever in minimum position.
  • Manually lock up rear center split rows.
  • Adjust markers to proper length.
  • Adjust seed population.
  • Adjust vacuum level.
  • Adjust CCS tank pressure.
  • Configure seed monitor to read only active rows.

1. TWO-POINT HITCH: Change hitch offset to center position. See ADJUST HITCH CROSSBAR-32R15 AND 24R15 ONLY in this section.

DRAWBAR HITCH: Change tractor drawbar to center position. See ADJUST TRACTOR DRAWBAR-32R15 AND 24R15 WITH DRAWBAR HITCH ONLY in Prepare Tractor section.

2. Remove seed from all row unit meters. See CLEAN OUT SEED HOPPERS AND METERING UNITS in Operate Machine section.

3. Remove the vacuum hose (A) from all split row unit meters. Insert provided plug (B) into vacuum port, and reconnect vacuum hose to meter.

4. Remove seed delivery hose (A) from split row unit meters. Insert provided plug (B) into meter inlet and reconnect seed delivery hose on meters.

5. Remove split-row cylinder lock (A) from storage location.

6. Raise rear rank wing row units and install short split-row cylinder locks (A) in both right-wing and left-wing rockshaft cylinders. Lower row units onto cylinder locks.

7. Disengage meter drive on the five center rear split row units. See DISENGAGE METER DRIVE in Operate Machine section. The drives for the rear rank wing row units disconnect automatically when raised.

8. If equipped with heavy duty down force, set down force lever (A) to minimum position.

If equipped with pneumatic down force, rotate knob (B) clockwise to release pressure from five center split rows.

9. Remove row unit lock-up bar (A) from storage location on right-hand side of main frame.

10. Place row unit lock-up latch (B) in position shown.

NOTE: On machines with the rear hitch option, there is not enough clearance for lock-up bar (A) to attach to row unit nearest hitch. Raise three point hitch or extend drawbar cylinder and slowly lower frame until remaining unit locks.

11. Lock row units up on rear rank main frame using lock-up bar (A), or raise hitch and slowly lower frame until row units are at full length of travel. Raise machine and confirm row units are in locked position.

12. Replace seed disks on front rank rows.

13. Set transmission to desired seed rate.

NOTE: See your SeedStar™ 2 Monitor or ComputerTrak™ Operator's Manual.

14. Change monitor settings to split row OFF.

15. Reset vacuum level.

16. Make necessary adjustments to the front rank row units for correct seed placement and seed trench closing.

17. Adjust marker to correct length for desired row spacing. See ADJUST MARKER LENGTH in this section.
