Cleaning Out Seed Hoppers and Vacuum Metering Units
CAUTION:
Avoid crushing injury. Frame control box PLANT-TRANS switch must be in TRANS position, service locks must be installed, and the following procedure must be followed as outlined.
Avoid crushing injury. When procedure is complete, place tractor selective control valve (SCV) in Neutral position before PLANT-TRANS switch is moved to PLANT position.
The Purge-Plant switch (C) allows the fan to operate while machine is in a raised position. Operator is able to clean out the CCS tanks and purge the hoses without climbing in and out of the tractor cab. The following procedure must be completed in the order given to avoid possible injury and machine damage.
CAUTION:
Avoid crushing injury. If the rockshaft row units are raised, rockshaft cylinder locks must be installed. The rockshafts lower when SCV lever is moved to lower position.
NOTE:
With frame in raised position, the CCS row unit switch disables CCS fan.
IMPORTANT:
CCS fan does not operate with rockshafts raised. For purposes of cleaning the tanks, place the rockshaft in the field transport position. For 76 cm (30 in.) row spacing, place short cylinder stops on rockshaft cylinders.
1.
Raise machine and do the following:
-
Place tractor in park and apply parking brake.
-
Install center frame service locks (B).
-
Install short cylinder stops on rear rockshafts cylinders.
