7000, 7020, 8000, and 8000T Series Row-Crop Tractors (General Hydraulic Information)
CAUTION:
Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin, causing serious injury to you or others. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other lines. Tighten all connections before applying pressure. Search for leaks with a piece of cardboard. Protect hand and body from high-pressure fluids.
If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately. Any fluid injected into the skin must be removed within a few hours or gangrene can result.
CAUTION:
Hydraulic hoses can fail due to physical damage, kinks, age, and exposure. Check hoses regularly and replace as necessary.
IMPORTANT:
Fan motor case drain hose (A) MUST be attached to low-pressure drain connection PRIOR to other hoses being connected. Case drain MUST have LESS THAN 172 kPa (1.72 bar) (25 psi) or fan motor will be damaged.
IMPORTANT:
Installation of a Low-Pressure Drain Line Kit is required if towing tractor is not so equipped.
Vacuum and variable rate drive systems must always be shut off by pushing SCV into "float" position to avoid damaging pressure spikes in hydraulic system.
When each vacuum motor is connected to it's own SCV the tractor cab controls are used to adjust vacuum. If installed, the in-line flow control valves must be set to maximum.
When both vacuums are connected to one SCV or to power beyond, in-line planter flow control valves must be installed and used to adjust vacuum. Tractor flow control must be set to maximum.
