Filling CCS Tanks
CAUTION:
When transporting machine on roadways, CCS tanks must be half full or less.
Avoid personal injury. Do not open lids when CCS blower is running. Lids and harmful chemicals can be blown into face and seed lines plug.
CAUTION:
Read chemical manufacturers label before handling parts coated with seed treatments. Use proper skin, eye, and respiratory protection.
IMPORTANT:
Cleanout any buildup of seed treatments or talc between CCS tank fills.
IMPORTANT:
Keep seed free of debris. Debris can cause blockage at CCS nozzles. Optional fill screen is available, see your John Deere dealer.
IMPORTANT:
Clean seed level sensor before filling seed tanks.
The first time a new tank is used, the inside bottom of tank must be coated. Use talc to coat inside of tank if using a vacuum meter. Mix triple the amount of talc or graphite into the first two or three bushels of seed placed in bulk tank. See USE OF TALC AND GRAPHITE LUBRICANTS in your Rate Charts and Settings Operator's Manual. This coats the inside of CCS system and hoses with a protective layer of talc or graphite to help resist buildup of seed coatings.
Avoid plugging delivery hoses at CCS tank. Tank agitators run when machine is lowered and tractor key is on. Agitator operation without CCS fan air flow can cause some seed types to plug in hoses at tank. If machine is lowered for extended periods with seed in CCS tank, turn tractor key off or unplug agitator.
