Variable Drive system provides electrohydraulic versus mechanical means of driving seed meters. The system uses radar to obtain machine speed information and has a wheel motion sensor to verify machine motion.
With SEEDSTAR™ variable drive, the operator can manually change the seeding rate "on-the-go" from the tractor cab.

Operator can match seed population to differing soil types or to irrigated versus dry land soils.

Operator can program up to six different seed rates in the system. Then, during the planting operation, the operator can select any of the programmed rates and change seed rates.
