Strainer Recommendations

Equip all nurse tanks with strainers to prevent contamination.
A strainer prevents obstructions in flow dividers and prevents damage to piston pump. An 80 mesh main strainer is recommended. Inspect and clean strainer after initial start up, daily, and as required thereafter. Obstructions cause inconsistent delivery to openers.
Plugging is less likely to occur with a low pressure system, but contamination has the potential to damage the flow divider and check valves.
If fertilizer with a high solid content is plugging the 80 mesh strainer frequently, a less restrictive 50 mesh strainer is available. See your John Deere dealer.
