Cleaning Vacuum Manifold System
Dirt or seed inoculant/treatment may build up in vacuum manifold system and cause low vacuum at planting units. This could result in loss of seed metering accuracy.
CAUTION:
Follow chemical manufacturer's precautions when handling parts coated with seed treatments. Use proper skin, eye and respiratory protection.
Clean air manifold system at least once a week during operation or more often in severe dusty conditions.
Clean as follows:
1.
Turn on vacuum blower(s) and set hydraulic flow to 75 percent.
2.
One at a time, remove vacuum hoses from meters. Inspect and clean all straw and/or foreign material from both attaching hose ends. Shake hose for a few seconds and replace it on meter.
3.
Remove end caps from manifold tubes one at a time, then reinstall.
