Aligning Drill Shaft Couplers and Flex Shaft Adjustment-12/16 Row

Rotate drive couplers (A) by hand and observe alignment of flat surfaces (C). Drive coupler surfaces should align to within 3 mm (1/8 in.) throughout full rotation. If alignment exceeds 3 mm (1/8 in.), adjust as follows:

1. Loosen all clamps (B) along entire length of outer shafts and slide short inner-wing shaft to align FLAT surfaces laterally.
2. Loosen cap screws (D) to align shafts fore-to-aft. After proper alignment (E) is obtained on surfaces (C), tighten cap screws (D) and clamps (B) on short inner-wing drillshaft.

3. Align flex shaft (A) and outer shaft (B) so pins (C) are in same side of slots. Tighten clamps on long outer shaft. Flex shaft must be able to slide back and forth the entire length of slots.
