Replacing Seed Deflectors and Boots

NOTE: Clean dirt from parts prior to removal.

1. Loosen cap screw (E) and remove seed tube (G).

2. Remove cap screw (B) and lock nut (A) to remove seed boot.

3. Remove cap screw (D) to replace seed deflector (F).


A-Lock Nut
B-Cap Screw, 7/16 x 3-3/4 in.
C-Seed Boot
D-Cap Screw, 1/4 x 1/2 in.
E-Cap Screw, 3/8 x 9/16 in.
F-Seed Deflector
G-Seed Tube
H-Leaf-Spring

IMPORTANT: Leaf-spring (A) must be installed to keep seed boot against inside of disk opener for accurate seed placement.

NOTE: Seed boot can be installed using two-of-three mounting positions. See POSITION SEED BOOTS in Prepare Machine section for further information.

4. Squarely position leaf-spring (A) in recessed area (B) on seed boot.

5. While holding leaf-spring with finger, slide seed boot (C) into position.

IMPORTANT: Leaf-spring must be seated in recessed area prior to cap screw (D) being installed.

6. Position seed boot to desired level, compress spring until holes are aligned and install cap screw (D).
