Controller Functions

The controller is located on the drill. The controller forms the link between the separate sensors, actuators, and monitor.

A monitor located in the cab displays data from the controller and allows user input to the controller.

A microprocessor in the controller processes the user entered data and the signals transmitted by the sensors. The processed information is converted into:

A. CONTROL SIGNALS: Signals sent from the controller to operate the actuators.

  • Automatic tramline operation.
  • Seed meter shutoff.

B. ALARM SIGNALS: Signals sent to the controller from the sensors that indicate malfunctions in the monitored system.

  • Low fan speed alarm.
  • Low hopper alarm.
  • Meter operation sensors.

C. DISPLAY SIGNALS: Signals sent from the controller to the monitor that displays the following information.

  • Operational status.
  • Tramline pattern.
  • Area covered in current field.
  • Total area covered.
  • Area worked per hour.
  • Work speed.
  • Hours operated.
  • Actual fan speed.
  • Hopper content.
  • Obstruction in seed delivery system.
  • Meter status.
