Controller Functions
The controller is located on the drill. The controller forms the link between the separate sensors, actuators, and monitor.
A monitor located in the cab displays data from the controller and allows user input to the controller.
A microprocessor in the controller processes the user entered data and the signals transmitted by the sensors. The processed information is converted into:
A. CONTROL SIGNALS:
Signals sent from the controller to operate the actuators.
-
Automatic tramline operation.
-
Seed meter shutoff.
B. ALARM SIGNALS:
Signals sent to the controller from the sensors that indicate malfunctions in the monitored system.
-
Low fan speed alarm.
-
Low hopper alarm.
-
Meter operation sensors.
C. DISPLAY SIGNALS:
Signals sent from the controller to the monitor that displays the following information.
-
Operational status.
-
Tramline pattern.
-
Area covered in current field.
-
Total area covered.
-
Area worked per hour.
-
Work speed.
-
Hours operated.
-
Actual fan speed.
-
Hopper content.
-
Obstruction in seed delivery system.
-
Meter status.
