System Diagram, Hydraulic Fan Drive
The diagram shows all the components of the hydraulic fan drive.
Oil flows from the SCV via the quick-couplers to the three-way flow control valve. The three-way flow control valve controls the flow rate, which in turn determines the speed of the hydraulic motor.
Recommended fan speed for the various drill models is given under ADJUSTING HYDRAULIC FAN SPEED in Operating the Pneumatic Drill System section.
IMPORTANT:
On John Deere tractors belonging to Series 55, 6000, 7000 and 8000, open the three-way flow control valve (2) for maximum flow and then set the fan speed at the tractor's SCV.
NOTE:
The built-in return valve permits the fan to slow down gradually when the hydraulic system is switched off.
Plate (13) is installed only on tractors that do not have load-sensing SCVs. The plate is supplied with the tractors ready for installation.
