Calibrate Separate Start and Stop Height

Use this procedure to set separate points to start and stop VRD motors as the machine raises and lowers. Machines with frame height sensors use separate start/stop points. Common start/stop points are generally used when machine is equipped with parallel-arm height switches.

Select Menu >> Planter button >> Configure softkey >> Sensor tab.

1. Select Height from drop down box.

2. Completely raise machine in field raised position.

3. Select Planter Raised button. Select Enter button.

4. Lower machine completely while driving forward under seeding conditions.

5. Select Planter Lowered button. Select Enter button.

6. Select Start/Stop button.

IMPORTANT: Start height must be a larger value than stop height.

NOTE: A Stop point less than 20 is not recommended.

7. From the fully lowered position, raise machine until motor stop height is achieved and select Stop Height button. Recommended setting is just before openers exit soil.

8. Fully raise machine.

9. From the fully raised position, lower machine until motor start height is achieved and select Start Height button. Recommended setting is just before openers contact soil.

10. If settings need to be adjusted slightly after planting begins, select input boxes and adjust values in small increments.

11. Select Enter button.
