VRD Machines-Configure Meter, Crop, Disk, and Rates

1. Select Menu >> Planter button >> Rates softkey.

2. Select Use One Rate for All Motors check box. A checked box indicates one rate on all motors. An empty box indicates different rates for each motor.

3. Select corn, soybeans, or one of the custom crop names.

4. Select Disk Type drop down box. If planter is configured for mechanical meters, plateless meter selections appear. Select the plateless meter installed on machine. If planter is configured for VRD, types of vacuum disks appear. Select the type of disk installed in meters.

5. Select Seed Disk drop down box and select the vacuum disk used.

6. Select Show Rates button.

7. Select Change Rates button.

8. If setting different rates for each motor, select Motor drop down box to choose a motor to assign rates.

9. Select Rate drop down box and choose a rate to assign population.

10. Select Target input box and enter the target population for selected rate. High and Low population (warning) limits are automatically set to a percentage above and below the target rate. Select High and Low input boxes to manually adjust warning limits.

IMPORTANT: Variable Rate Drive is inoperative until at least one target rate has been defined AND turned ON.

11. To see a rate on the RUN page as a choice, select On / Off drop down box and choose ON .

12. Select Enter button.

13. Average Spacing shown on the bottom of the screen is the CALCULATED distance between plants based on the row width and target population entered in monitor
