NOTE:
Some products tend to bridge over the meter inlets (barley, oats, grass seeds, and others). Set agitators to the high position to loosen product. Use an all run blockage system to detect flow restriction. Mix fertilizer with grass seed, if permitted by seed company, or switch to a different seed variety. If seed rate or distribution problems occur, perform a tank pressurization test and check the machine for air leaks.
Some seed treatments cause products to bridge. Ensure that the treatment is dry before seed is placed into the tank. Do not use the fill auger to apply seed treatments. If seed rate or distribution problems persist, discontinue operation and contact your John Deere dealer.
Three methods of meter verification are available to double check the product application rate.
|
FIELD METHOD: This verification is the most accurate and accounts for all cart configurations. This method does not rely on special operator inputs or adjustments. Verification is performed in actual field conditions and configuration.
STATIONARY METHOD: This verification is the second most accurate. The operator manually turns the transmission until an unspecified amount is metered and measured. The more product that is metered, the more accurate the calculation. The correct sprocket combination must be installed on the drive system.
1/10 HECTARE (1/10 ACRE) STATIONARY METHOD: This verification is the least accurate. The amount of product metered out and used for calculation is considerably less. The more product that is metered, the more accurate the calculation. The correct sprocket combination must be installed on the drive system.
