Recommended Tractors

There are three steps to determine if the tractor is compatible with the chosen 1910 Cart and Seeding Tool.

1. Tractor Power -Can the tractor pull this combination in the field?

2. Tractor Weight -Does tractor weigh enough to tow combination safely on the road with the cart less than half full?

IMPORTANT: John Deere 9000 Series Scraper Tractors are not used with the 1910 Cart and Seeding Tool.

3. Tractor Hydraulics -Can tractor operate cart fan and active hydraulic downforce?

· Tractor Power

IMPORTANT: (Except 350 and 430 TBT) Do not use tractors with more than 373 kW (500 hp.) with TBT cart.

(350 and 430 TBT Only) Do not use tractors with more than 388 kW (520 hp.) with TBT cart.

Tractors must be equipped with heavy-duty drawbar kit with TBT cart.

A general guideline is 6 horsepower per each foot of seeding tool. Add the following horsepower for the 1910 Cart:

350 Bushel Model 60 HP
270 Bushel Model 40 HP
195 Bushel Model 30 HP

IMPORTANT: These are only rough guidelines; hills and soil conditions can have a significant impact on tractor power requirements.

· Tractor Weight

Determine the minimum tractor weight. (Refer to CALCULATE MINIMUM TRACTOR WEIGHT FOR SAFE TRANSPORT-CHART in this section.)

· Tractor Hydraulics

Fan requirements vary depending on machine configuration and ground speed. Larger tools, more primaries, and double shoot systems use more hydraulic flow. High ground speeds increase the amount of material in the air stream and require more hydraulic flow. Tools with active hydraulic downforce require additional hydraulic flow and maximum tractor pressure.

See TRACTOR HYDRAULIC SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS in Specifications section.
