Attach Seeding Tool or Air Cart to Tractor
CAUTION:
Prevent personal injury caused by unexpected movement of the machine. Engage parking brake and place transmission in "PARK", shut off engine, and remove key before working around hitch.
1.
Back tractor into position and attach hitch link to drawbar using pin (A). Be sure that hitch pin is retained, following instructions in tractor operator's manual.
CAUTION:
A safety chain helps control drawn equipment when it accidentally separates from the drawbar while transporting. A runaway machine could cause severe injury or death to a motorist, bystander, or the operator. Using the appropriate adapter parts, attach the chain to the tractor drawbar support or other specified anchor location. Provide only enough slack in chain to permit turning. See your John Deere dealer for a chain with a strength rating equal to or greater than the gross weight of the towed machine.
IMPORTANT:
All 15.2 m (50 ft.) and larger seeding tools are equipped with a 31 751 kg (70 000 lb.) safety chain. Make sure that safety chain with highest capacity is positioned at tractor and cart attaching point in a TBT configuration.
All 350 and 430 TBT carts come from factory with 31 751 kg (70 000 lb.) safety chains.

3.
Attach fan motor case drain hose (A) to low-pressure drain coupler (B).
IMPORTANT:
Fan motor case drain must be attached to low-pressure drain connection (LESS THAN 172 kPa [1.72 bar] [25 psi]) or fan motor damage occurs.
IMPORTANT:
Install a Low-Pressure Drain Line Kit is required when towing tractor is not equipped. (Refer to LOW-PRESSURE DRAIN CONNECTION in Prepare the Tractor - General section for appropriate kit.)
IMPORTANT:
Do not use other ports at the rear of the tractor (such as power beyond ports) which can be similar in appearance and size to low-pressure drain port. Due to high back-pressure (over 172 kPa [1.72 bar] [25 psi]), drain connection to these ports results in fan motor damage.
IMPORTANT:
Fan motor must be shut-off by moving SCV lever to "Float" position. Moving SCV lever into "Neutral" detent can cause fan motor damage.

4.
Drain line kit must route to appropriate diagnostic port or drain location as shown for 60 and 70 series 4WD tractors and 9000 series tractors.
IMPORTANT:
When operating a John Deere 1810 Seeding Tool, a second low-pressure drain connection must be made for proper operation of depth control relief circuit. Depth control bleed-off hose can be connected to motor return, power beyond port, or to an open SCV if available. If connection is made to an open SCV port, place control lever for this SCV in "Float" position when operating.
IMPORTANT:
Fan motor must be shut off by moving SCV lever to "Float" position. Moving SCV lever into "Neutral" detent can cause fan motor damage.

5.
Plug depth control hoses (A) into No. 1 hydraulic coupler.
CAUTION:
Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin, causing serious injury. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before attaching hydraulic hoses to couplers.
CAUTION:
Hydraulic hoses can fail due to physical damage, kinks, age, and exposure. Check hoses regularly. Replace damaged hoses.
IMPORTANT:
Connect depth control hoses to couplers correctly when attaching 1810 or 1840 Seeding Tool with TouchSet
Depth Control to John Deere 8000 or 9000 Series Tractors. If hose connections are reversed machine cannot respond to TouchSet™ controls. Oil flow must agree with symbols on hose identification tag; "Extend" hose always goes in left coupler.

7.
Connect fan-auger hoses into No. 3, No. 4, or No. 5 hydraulic coupler.
Connect hoses so fan turns with SCV lever in "Forward" detent position. This position allows the fan to be shut off in the "Float" position, without causing fan motor damage. Hose with the extra adapter goes in the left-hand SCV port.
IMPORTANT:
Fan motor must be shut off by moving SCV lever to "Float" position. Moving SCV lever into "Neutral" detent can cause fan motor damage.
