High-Residue Chain Idler1. Check where chain rides on inserts (A) for wear. Measure center of inserts, if worn down 3 mm (1/8 in.), remove nut (B), washers and spring.2. Squeeze retaining pin (C) and remove outer plate (D). 3. Remove inserts, rotate one third turn and install on inner plate. Install outer plate, washers, spring and nut. If inserts have been previously turned two times, install new inserts available through service parts. See your John Deere dealer.
