Changing Planting Rate Sprocket Combinations

NOTE: Rate charts are based on average planter wheel slip in tilled soil conditions. No-till conditions will likely result in a higher population than what is shown in rate charts. Adjust accordingly. Always verify population and spacing with a field check.

1. Consult planting rate chart to determine desired sprocket combinations.

2. Remove retaining hook (A) from storage position.

3. Pull chain tightener (A) downward and attach hook (B) to tightener.

4. Remove required number of rubber sprocket spacers (C).

5. Remove chain from sprockets. Slide desired driver and driven sprockets (D) and (E) into alignment with chain tightener and replace chain.

6. Remove hook from chain tightener. Reposition hook in storage position by pressing it into clip (F).

7. Replace rubber sprocket spacers on upper and lower shafts.
