Use of Powdered Graphite with Finger Pick-Up
IMPORTANT:
Some insecticide-treated seed is coated with commercially applied graphite. It is important to add the recommended amount of graphite, in addition to graphite already on the seed.
IMPORTANT:
Graphite filters down into finger pick-up mechanism to insure proper lubrication. Some graphite types have an oil base and form a gummy residue. John Deere Graphite provides dry lubrication. Graphite does not eliminate need for proper and regular lubrication.
IMPORTANT:
When using meters the first time each season, add 9 mL (0.6 Tbls.) or (0.3 oz.) to each row unit.
NOTE:
If graphite is building up in bottom of hopper, reduce amount accordingly.
Add powdered graphite into each hopper at the following rate per fill.
| MaxEmerge Hopper Graphite Application Rate |
| Hopper Size |
Amount of Graphite |
| 58 L (1.6 bu.) |
15 mL (1 Tbls.) |
| 106 L (3 bu.) |
30 mL (2 Tbls.) |
