IMPORTANT: Before performing any of these checks, verify hydraulic SCVs are set to maximum flow, frame control console has power (backlight is on), cleanout switch is set to "Plant" position, and the proper buttons are pushed for the desired function .

Machine not functioning. (Tractor engine must be running and console power light on.)

Control console not powered.

Check electrical connections at 7-pin connector (tractor and machine side).

Check inline fuses to frame control box.

Pressure and return hoses not fully engaged in SCV outlets.

Verify connections.

Machine will not unfold.

Refer to UNFOLD MACHINE in OPerate Machione section for proper procedure to unfold planter.

S8 solenoid not energizing.

Check for 12V at the solenoid.

Check solenoid.

S8 valve stuck closed.

Clean or replace valve.

Machine unfolds when not selected.

NOTE: If machine is more than half way unfolded (pivot area frame fold switch is closed), the frame control box in "Plant", and machine is lowered, the machine will unfold. This is normal operation.

Frame fold switch malfunctioning (switch located in pivot area).

See your John Deere dealer.

S8 valve is stuck open.

Check for 12V at the solenoid.

Clean or replace valve.

Machine will not raise to high lift or lower.

Frame control box PLANT/TRANS switch is in "Plant" position.

Place switch in "Trans" position.

S1 solenoid is not energizing or is stuck.

Check for 12V at the solenoid.

Clean or replace valve.

Pilot operated check valve 10B and/or 10C stuck.

Clean valve. See your John Deere dealer.

Pilot operated check valve 10A and/or 10D stuck.

Clean valve. See your John Deere dealer.

Machine will not raise to high lift.

S2 or S3 solenoids not energized.

Check for 12V at the solenoids.

Check solenoid.

Machine raises or lowers slowly.

S2 or S3 valves stuck.

Check for 12V at the solenoids.

Clean or replace valve.

Machine unlevel.

Hydraulics out of phase.

Lower machine in folded position. Refer to LOWER OR RAISE MACHINE IN TRANSPORT POSITION FOR FILL OR SERVICE in Operate Machine section or refer to decal on frame control console.

In transport position, wing wheels won't retract.

S1, S2, or S3 solenoids and/or wing rephasing valves malfunctioning.

Verify S1, S2, or S3 are being energized and repair as necessary.

Clean or replace S1, S2, or S3 and rephasing valve.

See your John Deere dealer.

In transport position, wing wheels won't extend.

S1, S2, or S3 solenoids and/or wing rephasing valves malfunctioning.

Verify S1, S2, or S3 are being energized and repair as necessary.

Clean or replace S1, S2, or S3 and rephasing valve.

See your John Deere dealer.

In transport position, main frame wheels won't retract.

S1, S2, or S3 solenoids and/or wing rephasing valves malfunctioning.

Verify S1, S2, or S3 are being energized and repair as necessary.
